Raised in Wisconsin’s heartland, Myla Dalbesio grew up exploring state parks and nurturing her artistic tendencies. After being discovered at a beauty pageant at age 16, she moved to New York and settled in to begin her modeling career. Dalbesio has fronted advertising campaigns for Tibi, Coach, Intimissimi, Abercrombie & Fitch, Levi’s, H&M, Madewell, Soma, Persona, Gerry Weber, and most notably, several seasons of Calvin Klein lingerie. She was named the face and brand ambassador of Prima Donna lingerie for years 2016 through 2019, culminating in the release of her own eponymously named capsule collection for the brand. The collection included lingerie, swimwear, and sportswear for women with a larger cup size and a streetwear sensibility.

Self-portrait
I am always looking for the beauty in truth and authenticity

Dalbesio has appeared in editorials for LOVE, Lui, Purple, Dazed and Confused, i-D, Vogue India, Allure, Elle France, Elle Italia, L’Official, Galore, BON, Twin, Oyster, Bullett, Glamour, Tush, and Viva Moda, among others. In 2017 Dalbesio made her debut in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, and continued to appear in the issue for four consecutive years. Her self-portrait story was featured in the first non-nude issue of Playboy, and she has graced the covers of many magazines, both American and international, including: Lady, Tush, Glamour, Madame, Lifestyle, Suited, Feeling, FFF Zine and a self-portrait for P Magazine.

Dalbesio’s involvement with art has always been an important facet of her life and career, and she has a long history of artist collaborations under her belt. Notably, she has worked with Albert Watson, Robert Longo, Ryan Mcginley, Roe Ethridge, Jeff Bark, Peter Funch, Jason Nocito, Tony Cox, and Justin Lowe and Jonah Freeman. Dalbesio herself has worked in a variety of mediums, ranging from collage, drawing, panting, sculpture, video, and performance, and has exhibited in galleries and art fairs around the world. Gutsy and unabashed, the New York Times declared her last New York performance “a knockout,” and her last curatorial effort was included in renowned critic Jerry Saltz’s “10 Best Art Shows of 2016.”

Dalbesio’s written work has appeared in publications including Playgirl, Suited, Allure, Twin, Oyster, FFF Zine, P Magazine, and Doingbird, and she wrote a regular column for Elle.com called “Girl on Girl.” Her current and ongoing focus is photography, through which she strives to create authentic imagery that represents the truth and beauty in her subjects and their surrounding landscapes. She specializes in portraiture, editorial, and travel, with an emphasis on the subjects of female identity and the natural world.
